In her speech, Rector Valentyna Yakubiv emphasized that Carpathian National University is an active participant in the formation of a regional human rights ecosystem and has powerful expert potential in the field of human rights, public administration, and social policy.
“Our university is an environment where a culture of human rights is formed, expertise is developed, and specialists are trained who are able to influence the quality of public decisions. The protection of human rights begins in the community, and the university is an important point in this social process,” the rector noted.
During the conference, the Student Ombudsman of the Carpathian National University, Oleksiy Vorobets, was also introduced, and he joined the discussion on the role of youth in the development of a human rights environment and the formation of a responsible civil society.
The University has been cooperating with the Regional Representation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Commissioner for Human Rights in the Ivano-Frankivsk region for a long time, implementing joint educational, research and outreach initiatives.
