Meeting-discussion with Volodymyr Viatrovych “War, History and Future of Ukraine”

A meeting-discussion with the famous Ukrainian historian, publicist, politician and public figure Volodymyr Viatrovych on the topic “War, History and Future of Ukraine” was held in the assembly hall of the Educational and Scientific Law Institute of the Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University.

The event brought together a wide audience — students and teachers of the Educational and Scientific Law Institute, as well as the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations of Vasyl Stefanyk Kyiv National University. The atmosphere of the meeting was saturated with lively discussion, active debate and numerous questions, which indicated the deep interest of the participants in the topic.

During the conversation, Volodymyr Viatrovych shared his vision of the role of historical memory in the current war between Russia and Ukraine, and emphasized the importance of understanding the past for the formation of national identity and statehood. Considerable attention was paid to the issues of the prospects for the end of the war, the post-war reconstruction of the country, and the place of history in modern public discourse.

In the format of an open debate, students and teachers had the opportunity to ask questions, express their own opinions, and discuss with the guest the challenges facing Ukraine today and the vision of its future through the eyes of a historian.
